24/10/2019: Preparation Stage

My final vaccination. My very last step of preparation before I leave, before packing of course because everyone knows you leave that til the day before…. right?

So my journey from the beginning awaits you…

I still remember everything from the day I got the phone call telling me I was going to Moz, 14/06/2019, I was on shift in work and had to stand out back to get signal. I remember telling everyone on shift and them all joining in on the excitement! Having a few hours for the news to settle in until my shift finished I then went home to tell my family that I had been chosen to go on the trip!

Everything about that day was amazing, but it was only the start of the journey, and I could only assume it was going to get better.

In order to prep for this trip I had to get multiple vaccinations and anti-malarial tablets.

So far I have received…

6 jags, a unicorn plaster and a course of very undesirable tablets. I start my anti-malarial’s tomorrow, and I leave on Friday!

Really when you weigh it up… the jags weren’t so bad when you got a unicorn plaster after it… at least that’s what I told myself!

Now onto packing and making sure i have everything ready!!!
